Description:

Designed by women for women, the Porta-Pocket is a simple, comfortable, and discrete way to keep personal items like your phone and ID safe. Whether you’re going out with friends, travelling light, hiking, or working out, if your outfit doesn’t have pockets and you don’t want to carry a bag or purse, then Porta-Pocket is for you.


Marketing Ideas:

Target Market:
Active and social women, ages 16-26, on or around the campus area
College Age: Greek life, freshmen, gym goers, other

Pinterest, school newspapers, word of mouth, referral programs, Buzzfeed, flyers, etc…


Revenue and Expenses:

Probable Expenses:
Fabric, zippers, hooks, elastic, thread, & marketing materials (must research the cost of purchasing these items in bulk, then determine the cost per pocket)

Sources of Revenue (bundles, diverse markets, etc…):
Individual retail sales, wholesale sales to boutique shops, bundles for specific groups (a sorority, a group of friends, etc…) Do market research (ask your friends, sorority sisters, women on your campus) how much they would be willing to pay for such a product, ask them if they would pay at all for such a product, and what features they would like that product to have.


Challenges:

Creating the actual pocket in a cheap and manageable way.


Would you recommend to other chapters?

Still an untested idea. If a Chapter can find a way to produce this pocket for a low price, and it doesn’t require intensive manufacturing, then this could have a lot of potential. It could also be fantastic marketing for Nourish.
